Sunflower AwardA new annual chapter award to celebrate excellence among members. The KanSPRA Sunflower Award is a new general annual award given to one or more KanSPRA member(s) each year. This recognition allows the chapter to honor deserving members for any number of outstanding contributions to the school communications profession and/or to KanSPRA. The Sunflower Awards recognize members who:
Qualifications: To be eligible, members must be employed full-time in school public education, communications, or public relations and a current member of KanSPRA. The award is presented at the annual state conference in the fall. Members can receive this award multiple times and can be past recipients of other KanSPRA annual awards. As with other KanSPRA annual awards, members are nominated by their peers and selected once a year following the same process and schedule as other annual chapter awards. The award can be presented to multiple members of one school district who have demonstrated excellent collaboration and teamwork on a project, event, challenge, etc. Multiple Sunflower Awards may be awarded during the same year.
